Helping independent artists connect, create, and grow.
Tangible Tunes is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization started in April 2026 built to support independent musical artists through visibility, connection, resources, and community.
Our mission is to support and uplift independent musical artists by providing accessible opportunities for visibility, connection, resources, and community.
We created Tangible Tunes because being an independent musical artist often means doing far more than making music. Artists are expected to promote themselves, find collaborators, reach out to venues, build an audience, create content, navigate opportunities, and somehow still find time to make the work they care about.
We wanted to create a space that could make some of that feel a little less overwhelming.
At its core, Tangible Tunes is about connection. We highlight emerging artists, share their stories, connect them with useful resources and creatives, and help create opportunities that can move their work forward.
We are artist advocates, not promoters. Our goal is not to promise streams, followers, or overnight growth. Instead, we focus on thoughtful support, genuine visibility, creative collaboration, and helping artists find opportunities that make sense for them.
Tangible Tunes was founded by Gray Haugland and Nathan Surowiec, two people who care deeply about music, creativity, and the people behind both. What began as a shared idea has grown into a nonprofit community connecting artists, creatives, venues, listeners, and supporters.
And we are still growing.
How Tangible Tunes Works
Artists can submit their music to Tangible Tunes for consideration through our artist submission form.
While we are not able to select every submission we receive, we do our best to support as many independent musical artists as possible. Every submission is considered thoughtfully, and our selection process helps us make sure we can give the artists we work with the time, attention, and support they deserve.
From there, we take the time to learn about the artist, their music, their story, and what they are currently working toward.
Some artists simply want to be introduced to a new audience. Others are looking for interviews, creative collaborators, venue recommendations, promotional materials, live opportunities, or more individualized support.
That is why Tangible Tunes offers both free opportunities and optional paid services.
You never have to purchase something in order to submit your music or be considered for a feature.
Our paid offerings exist for artists who want additional hands-on support, and every dollar earned through Tangible Tunes goes back into the nonprofit. That helps us continue supporting artists, creating opportunities, expanding our reach, and building new resources.
Free Artist Features
Our standard artist feature is completely free.
We use our platform to introduce independent musical artists to our community, highlight their music, and give listeners a reason to connect with the person or people behind the work.
Artists are selected based on their submission and fit with Tangible Tunes.

Our interviews are designed to go beyond basic promotional questions. We want listeners to learn about the artist, their creative process, their experiences, and the ideas behind their work.

Because every artist is different, many of these services are offered through custom quotes based on what the artist actually needs.
We would rather build something useful around the artist than force everyone into the same package.
Live Opportunities
As Tangible Tunes grows, we are also working to create more opportunities for artists to perform, meet one another, and connect with local music communities.
This includes organizing our own events, collaborating with venues and community spaces, sharing performance opportunities, and helping artists identify places where their music may be a good fit.
Whenever possible, we want the opportunities we create to put artists first.
Our Creative Network
Tangible Tunes is not only for musicians.
We are building a growing network of producers, photographers, videographers, designers, engineers, and other creatives who want to work with independent artists.
When an artist needs a service that someone in our network provides, we can help make the connection.
The creative and the artist then work together directly, and creatives are able to set and charge their own rates.
Our goal is to create more opportunities on both sides. Artists gain access to creatives who understand independent music, while creatives gain opportunities to build relationships, grow their portfolios, and be paid for their work.
A note about AI
Tangible Tunes does not accept AI-generated creative work within our creative network.
We want the opportunities we help create to directly support the photographers, designers, producers, musicians, writers, videographers, and other people doing the work.

Where Your Money Goes
Tangible Tunes is a nonprofit organization.
Revenue from our paid artist services and donations goes directly back into supporting the organization and the artists we serve.
