For people who are just finding you, how would you describe your music?

Definitely emotional, I’d like to think I tell a story within my music, everything’s real and raw, things I’ve went through or am currently going through. Most lyrics definitely have some pain in them but most of my beats and overall vibes are more uplifting so it gives the listener a good mix of sad and happy I think.

Who or what inspired you to start making music?

Really just my life in general, things that have happened to me and people I’ve gained and lost. Music really helps me express myself in ways I can’t really do by just talking so it helps me a lot, especially mentally.

How does the songwriting process typically start for you?

Sometimes I’ll sit down find a beat and just write and other times I’ll be walking to my car and a line or 2 will come to me and I’ll go from there. My hooks are the most vital part of my songs, without a good hook the song is never finished. So I try to focus in on that first and let everything else fall into place around it.

How do you know when a song is done?

I critique a lot when it comes to finalizing a song so determining when it’s done is a process for sure. I’d say when I listen to it multiple times through without stopping is when it’s done. It kinda shows me that I enjoyed it and there wasn’t any flaws to my ears so I could play it through multiple times.

What do you hope people feel when they listen to your music?

I hope they can relate to it really, music has always been huge for me because I can relate to certain songs and feel like I’m connecting with what I’m listening to. I want people to know they aren’t alone in what they’re going through and be able to make light of bad situations with my music like I do.

Can you tell us about your newest track and what inspired it?

Are there any musical or creative influences people might not expect?

As far as influences go I’d say no but for creative, I’ve always used a Xbox headset to initiate the recording process for my music. I’ve had mics and set up lab tops but it just never sounded how I wanted it to. Plugging my phone into an Xbox headset turning on playback and recording has always produced my best sounding music.

Where's your dream performance (city/state, venue, or who's on that lineup?)

I’d love to preform at the Bronx, been a die hard Yankees fan my entire life and always loved new York so preforming at Yankee stadium is a dream for sure. As far as who with I’d say I’ll open, Domonic Fike after me, GRAHAM, Chance the rapper and closing it out Olivia Dean.

What's the hardest part of making music for you? How do you manage to push through, what would you give as a piece of advice to those in the same struggle?

Hardest part at the start specifically is finding a “why” like yeah I like making music but is there really a point if not a lot of people are listening and if you’re not making money? That’s what I struggled with at the start. It really comes down to what your music promotes and what it’s about, making music helps me express myself, it helps me put things into perspective and put bad things in a new light. Having listeners and making money would be awesome but I don’t have to have those things, being able to express myself in my music and maybe even help others do the same is really why I make music.

What has been your proudest moment as an artist so far?

Releasing a song with my brother was my most proud moment for sure, we’ve made music together for so long. He’s the reason I love music in general and getting to record a few songs with him that we both really enjoyed and thought were good was great.
